Registration Open! 2026 Space Colony Competition

ree

We’re thrilled to announce that the 2026 Space Colony Competition is officially open for registration—and this year, signing up is easier than ever. Teams can now register directly through the Cosmic Portal Store, giving educators immediate access to everything they need to get started.

Last year, classrooms from around the world joined us on a mission to design sustainable space colonies using creativity, collaboration, and STEM thinking. With 196 teams participating globally, the competition grew faster than ever, and we’re excited to welcome an even larger community of young innovators in 2026.

🌍 What the Competition Is All About?

The Space Colony Competition invites teams of up to six elementary or middle school students to imagine, design, and build a model of a sustainable space colony. Using recycled materials, real-world STEM concepts, and their own creativity, students tackle the challenges of living beyond Earth.

Every submission is reviewed by real STEM professionals, who provide helpful feedback to inspire deeper thinking and future learning.
